Juniors: Junior coaching at the Club is carried out by Jane Olsson (accredited
Level 2 Badminton Coach), and David Olsson (accredited Level 1 coach).
Adults: Players who wish some coaching assistance may ask David or Jane Olsson
at club practice on Sundays.
COMPETITION
The PAOC Badminton club enters teams in most
grades of competition run by the South Australian Badminton Association (SABA)
- from the top State League competition to entry level C grade.
SABA competition is played at SABA headquarters, located at 42 Rutland Ave.,
Lockleys - a badminton-only sports hall with 7 courts, bar and social centre
and pro-shop. Different grades play on different weeknights at Lockleys.
At present, State League competition and A grade is played on Tuesday nights, and B and C
grades play on Wednesday nights. Teams generally consist of 6 players (4 men
and 2 women).
Junior Competition: The Club also enters
teams in the Junior League competition run by SABA. Junior League enables juniors
from various clubs around Adelaide to play against each other in a competitive
team situation. There are two divisions, one for the more experienced players,
and one for players just starting out. The venue rotates between clubs and
matches are played approximately every two weeks during the season. The are
currently two seasons each year.
